I wonder how the different partners find successfull partnership within the different types of placement provider to ensure the learner has some level of standardised support within their host companies. Some have mentioned they deliver training for providers but is it a requirement to attend and would all placement providers attend these sessions. We tend to have one host through out the educational experience, but Albeda had many within a course duration (if i have understood correctly).

Could you please write your comments here for the two questions asked by Soili and Antti:

1. What kind of skills and competencies are needed from teachers in supporting their students competence development in workplace learning?

2. How can teachers help their students to recognize describe their different competences and competence development?

HAMK, Soili is giving a presentation about how VET teachers could support their students holistic competence. She talks about the knowledge, skills and actions of the student. About competences and about agency. About the competence identity of the student. Could we put the word "teacher" instead of the " student" in the figure?

Within the College we offer a Lecturer into Industry scheme which allows lecturers to refresh the currency of their professional technical skills - being aware of their role as dual professionals. This is optional but has been useful to strengthen links with industry. as well as identify project based learning activities.
